Introducing the Smartlift SL 809 — A New High- Reach Workhorse in the Zone Group Fleet

Introducing the Smartlift SL 809

We’re excited to announce the newest addition to the Zone Group rental fleet: the Smartlift SL 809. This model expands our capability in the high-reach, precision lifting sector, offering new advantages over our existing SL 609 and SL 780 units. In this post, we’ll walk through what the SL 809 brings to the table, and how it stacks up to the other Smartlift models in our fleet.

What the SL 809 Brings to Zone

Here are the headline specs and features for the SL 809:

Smartlift 809 High Reach

In short, the SL 809 is Smartlift’s most capable vacuum lifter in terms of reach—and it opens up new possibilities for first-floor & elevated façade/glazing work without needing traditional cranes or scaffolding in many cases.

How the SL 809 Compares with SL 609 & SL 780

To see why the SL 809 is a valuable addition, here’s a comparison with two of our other workhorses, the SL 609 and SL 780.

Feature SL 609 SL 780 New SL 809
Maximum lifting capacity
600 kg
825–950 kg depending on spec / reach
800 kg
Maximum lifting height
4.15 m
Range around 4.2-4.6 m depending on boom extension
6.00 m
Precision / Fine Adjustment Sideshift
Side-shift 100 mm left and right
Side-shift 100 mm left and right
Side-shift 100 mm left and right
Transport / Setup / Mobility
Very compact, lighter, easier to move, lower footprint—advantageous for tighter indoor or constrained sites.
Larger than SL 609; tougher terrain capability, more ground clearance, more robust but also more logistical setup.
SL 809 is designed to balance height + capacity while maintaining manageable transport dims. Some trade-offs vs SL 609 in size, but gives much more height reach.
Runtime / Operational Efficiency
8-10 hours depending on version, battery, load.
Similar operational times, though heavy loads or extended reach reduce efficiency.
Up to ~ 10 hours under favorable conditions; remote diagnostics / smart features help minimize downtime.

Key Benefits of Having SL 809 in Our Fleet

Here are the specific advantages that Zone Group and our clients will gain with the addition of the SL 809:

  1. Greater Vertical Reach Without Scaffolding / Cranes
Many job sites that would once require a crane or scaffold at first-floor height can now use the SL 809, saving time and cost in setup, transport, and safety risk.

  2. Improved Efficiency on Elevated Glazing & Facade Work
The capacity + outreach combined means fewer repositionings, better access, and more predictable lifts. This can lead to faster job completion, fewer delays.

  3. Enhanced Precision & Safety
Side-shift and remote/hydraulic controls allow more precise alignment of panels, and remote diagnostics/IoT improve maintenance scheduling and reduce risk of unexpected downtime.

  4. Better Return on Investment for Certain Projects
For projects with frequent first-floor / elevated installations, the SL 809 offers a more cost-efficient tool, offering capabilities over the SL 609 for those use cases, while not always requiring the full heavy capacity (and cost) of larger cranes.

  5. Flexibility / Versatility
Because the SL 809 sits between the lighter/slimmer SL 609 and the more brute-capacity SL 780, it fills a “sweet spot” for many mid-to-high reach tasks. For some jobs you may still use the SL 609 (indoor, tighter space, lower height), or SL 780 (very heavy loads), but the SL 809 gives you a lot more operational flexibility.

What This Means for Zone Group Customers

For our customers, that means:

The Smartlift SL 809 represents an exciting step up in capability for the Zone Group fleet. By bridging the gap between reach and capacity more effectively than many previous models, it gives us and our customers more options and greater efficiency. Whether for commercial glazing, façade panels, stone, metal, or any vertical lift work at mid-to-high elevation, it’s a very strong tool.

If you’d like to see the SL 809 in action, compare hands-on vs the SL 609 or SL 780 for your next project, or get a quote, contact our sales / rentals team. We’d be happy to help you choose the best smartlift for your needs.
